what proffesion is best for me?

i'm a level 12 gnome warlock and i had tailoring/enchanting, but i figured enchanting would be too expensive. so i picked up herbalism to have a gathering profession to maybe make some money..should i keep tailoring? or should i pick up alchemy instead?

oh, i forgot to mention im leveling with my bro, and he is a miner and skinner so we can make money that way too.|||I think the best profession for earning extra cash is skinning. Mining and herbing are okaayyy... but with skinning you'll be able to take a skin from every single beast that you slay. It's 100% pure profit.|||The fun part about tailoring as a crafting profession is that it is self sufficient. You only need cloth which is gathered from mobs, and not from a gathering profession. So sticking with tailoring and taking up a gathering profession pure for the cash isn't a bad idea. Herbalism as a pure money maker is definately not bad, there are some herbs - also in the lower level ranges - which sell quite well.

Jalindal is quite right that leather is far more easy to farm than ore, and in most cases less boring too . But I'm not sure if that necessarily makes it the best gathering profession. Ore (and metal) tends to sell better than skins, because it is the main ingredient for several professions, while skins are mainly being used by leatherworkers - who, in many cases, have skinning as a second profession already. Consequently, they don't need to buy that much leather, unless they're too lazy to farm for it.

Basically, every gathering profession has its advantage and they all net you 100% pure profit. You just decide on what you think is most enjoyable for you. If you're playing with your brother and he has mining and skinning, than it might be best to choose herbalism indeed to earn the maximum amount of cash and not stand in each other's way.|||Skinning does have the advantage that a couple of Tailoring recipes require some leather as well.|||Another thing was that i didnt know if it would be better to make us potions or our own armor. but i just decided to stick with the tailoring.
