profs for a night elf rogue?

I'm relatively new to the game and about to start playing a night elf rogue. I was wondering which professions are best for her?

I was thinking herbalism and skinning or mining. But then again I'm a noob and might be completely off with those professions, lol. So was wanting some opinions. Thanks. :)|||If you need money then start with two gathering professions. I usually do skinning and mining but skinning and herbs is fine. If you have the money (I do) then I go with gathering and a crafting profession. My NE Rogue is doing skinning and leatherworking.|||for rogues you would get benefits from either alchemy or leather working. leather working is really only good at higher levels as q rewards and ah sales are as good if not better untill you hit 70 and get your epic crafted set made. alchemy on the other hand will help you out at every turn in the game as you level up.

if you just want a trade to make money then go with skinning and either herbalism or mining untill you hit late 60's then drop 1 skill to take up a craftign trade.|||I'd say take the money option.

Skinning + Mining.

Skinning will probably hit 300 by the time you're level 45.

(Sunken Temple is GREAT for skilling up and walking away with LOTS of Rugged Leather + Dragonscales.)

Mining requires more time (especially getting from 280 to 300) but you make a LOT of gold from it in Outland.

(You'll get Fel Iron Ores, Adamantite Ore, Eternium Ore and Khorium. As well as Motes of Earth + Fire. Which create the always popular Primal Earth's + Primal Fire.)|||One thing that new players (forgive me if this is an alt) don't realize is that you can drop professions - it's not a one-time choice. So... if this is a main/first toon, take 2 gathering professions. At 70, you can keep them or move to a crafting profession (leatherworking is classic for a rogue since you can make several nice epic armor pieces).

I'd recommend skinning and one other (mining or herbalism). Skinning is dead easy to level since many of the quests will have you kill beasts... so they're right there for you to skin.

create a banker/AH toon and run them to the nearest capital city. AS soon as you can, get both toons large (14 or 16) slot bags. When you're questing you'll often be near towns (since you want to log out in an inn for rest bonus) but most of the time they'll be small towns... however, they have mailboxes. Mail everything you've gathered to your banker/AH toon. When you log out for the day from your rogue, log in to your banker, grab mail (mail between toons on the same account is instant) and grab what you've gathered. If you have full stacks of stuff, put it on the AH. Log and then, next time, check the AH toon, collect gold, then go play the rogue.
