Chose Leatherworking specialization?

This is a simple question. How do I chose my Leatherworking specialization? I am a Hunter so I want to go with Dragonscale. Do I have to do the Leatherworking quest in Feralas?|||Not sure where the dragonscale LW trainer is but check wowwiki. The trainer will have a quest and most of the items can be bought off AH.|||no idea. what faction are you? horde or alliance? that would help tremendously.|||I am alliance, currently at 250 leatherworking|||then you go to azshara. there's a guy in a tent in the middle of nowhere that will train you. you will need several things for him.

If you do not skin, get the items from the AH.

If you are a skinner, skin scopids in Tanaris for the scorpid scales. Skin dragonkin in Dustwallow Marsh for worn dragonscales. just make circuits around Onyxia's lair.

Awesome, thank you|||I did this last night. I was a retard and went all the way to Azshara not knowing I needed to actually have the patterns for the items, just had the mats. Had to go all the way back to Ironforge to buy the patterns off the AH, then back to Azshara. LOL

I am at 255 LW right now. Does anyone have any tips on leveling the rest of the way? It seems like a major PITA.|||visit your trainer for patterns.

go to the AH and pick up the Tough Scorpid patterns. go to tanaris and skin scorpids. if you dont skin, but they mats off the AH. those got me through 250-275. then i did chimera boots, frostsaber leggings/gloves, and wicked leather bracers/headbands or something. those should get you to 300.



also, you can get recipes from the leatherworker at Feathermoon Stronghold. You'll have to make or buy several things for his recipes, but those recipes will help you get through your 250-275 easier since those recipes do not require scales.|||The scorpid scales are pretty hard to get. Not many get posted on the AH and trying to grind for them is horrible because the scorpions are spread all over the place in Tanaris.|||yea they are hard to kill. and if you're too low level, you might have a hard time. i find it easy enough to just stick to the northern hills between Zul'Farrak and Steamwedle port, and just run back and forth along the hillside. you'll find enough scorpids. but make sure you kill the other monsters for their skin. you can skin everything there except for the Roc's.

another place you might (MIGHT!!! im not sure on this one) is to try the scorpids in shimmering flats, just north of tanaris. i do not know if they drop scorpid scales though. good luck. i spent hours running around Tanaris killing scorpids. its not easy, but very rewarding in the end.
