Thx|||mining and skinning..you'll be killing a lot of beasts and what have you right off the bat, so might as well skin em and well..you'll always be running across ore so might as well mine it. that's what a lot of people generally go with i think, but then again i went with mining and blacksmithing...though all my friends that did the mining/skinning deal always had a lot more cash than me, lol|||Yes, definitely go with skinning. You'll be killing a lot of beasts for quests, and if you can get something off them to sell then it's a nice boon. You can go for mining as your other skill, or herbalism - it depends on how they sell on your server. A thing to note, though, is that for mining you'll always use up space for a mining pick (which may be annoying at first when you have little bag space) and unlike herbs, you can't find them in every area of a zone - mostly only in the rocky hills, mountains, or streams. However, what you gather with mining is mostly used by 3 professions (blacksmithing, engineering, jewelcrafting), whereas herbalism only has 1 professions that uses it (alchemy). And that's not counting the odd herb you need for a leatherworking recipe or something.|||A good way I made money: Deviate delights, esspecially as a horde player the recipe isn't too hard to come by. On my server they go for 10-13g raw and for 20-25g cooked. Easy money as you only need the initial recipe (which is rare drop, but can be easily bought on AH. Just dont pay too much). Ofcourse you also need the spices, but that shouldn't be a problem... One thing to look out for is competition, you dont want too much of it. Ofcourse you can also fish the deviates yourself, and get even more money (but maybe not as fast?)

Edit: On my server the recipe goes for 70-80g on alliance side. Which is a rip-off, just be careful how much you're going to pay for it.|||Quote:

Trying to find your own isn't an option either. And for a level 70, 70-80g isn't that much|||Hmmm, interesting timbit gavano. I might have to try that.

Starting out there are lots of things you can do to make extra money.

Firstly, two excellent professions are mining and skinning. Skinning won't make you money right away, but it'll be easy to level and once you start getting heavy leather you'll make decent cash.

Mining will get you a good start on your bankroll, but be careful not to undersell. I can normally get at least 1g out of a stack of 20 copper. Try to aim for that. If it's selling low, wait until another time to put it up.

Some tips-

-right now small eggs and boar meat on my server are going crazy. Try to grind some low level mobs for these things. (Another thing to watch for are light feathers. These sell well in my AH).

-ALWAYS check the AH before selling something to a merchant. You'd be surprised what people will use.

-SPIDER SILK. This is a GREAT money maker, but it's an investment. There's a place in stonetalon mountains (where the big spider is), that's a perfect place to grind up experience and make good money. The spiders there drop lots of green items and a good amount of silk (around 1 per 15 kills, so I've found). Try leveling up to a 16 and grinding it out there.

-Never sell green/blue/purple items to a vender!! Check the price of your competitors, the items in it's class that are above/below, and price it good. If it doesn't sell the first time, research a little and put it back up. Whatever you do, don't sell to a vendor!

-Linen/wool. Gather these and sell them, but once again (and this goes for EVERYTHING in the AH)- Don't UNDER sell. Wait to get to know the market and what these things can go for on your server. You're cheating yourself out of good money if you pick a time during the week to post your auctions. You'll either not get bought out, or will have to price too low.

Be logic about your money making strategy. It's a game, and in most games you need to know the information and have a plan to succeed :)|||Quote:

Well no, but as a lvl 70 there are better ways of making money. Well I think, I'm only lvl 61 with my main. But did have 400g by lvl 34 because of the deviates.|||Download the Auctioneer Addon, which helps you learn what items sell for on your server. There is a huge difference between servers in prices.

Scan the AH daily, and always check the prices of current listings before you put anything up for sale.|||Quote:

ANYTHING that isnt grey has its uses. Even some stringy boar meat you find can be used for cooking, for example. Try around a little, but noticed that people buy almost everything.|||I have found a new money maker that seems to be treating my mage right - enchanting!

Now, enchanting can be expensive to level - BUT - for your purposes you don't want to level it up just yet, you only want to disenchant things. And then put those materials on the AH. I get soulbound quest rewards all day while questing and I rarely keep or use any of them (it's often mail or plate these days). So instead of making 25s off selling those crappy +5 strength +5 spirit gloves that you can't use (depending on your toon) you disenchant it. Do this a few times and you have a whole stack of something at the end of your questing (I usually DE a few green drops I find as well) then I AH the stack. Here's an example - I DE'd 6 items yesterday and ended up with a 20 stack of vision dust and a few of some others. On my server that 20 stack of vision dust goes for 8-10 Gold (if I would have sold them to a vendor I would have made about 1.5-2G but DEing them I just made 8-10G instead. Some of the other individual Enchanting mats are even more expensive and can net you some nice cash. Things like Lesser Nether Essence that you will begin to get as you level and DE higher level items sell for 1-2 G a piece and often you'll get 2 from an item.

My main has leather working and skinning and skinning is really nice as is mining as others have said. Either way, good luck.
