Mining at level 50 / skill 300

I did have one or two good daily mining runs sorted for my dwarf hunter when I was levelling through the 40s, but the character has out-grown those.

On level 49 now, mining at 298, and wondering what ores I should go for and where the good deposits are? I've been looking around but haven't found anything that seems too good.

I have found infor on the forum but it seems that people are mostly talking about TBC a WoLK - what about good areas within the original game that are accessible to my character?|||To get those last 2 points, you can mine the nodes in the centre of Un'Goro, Winterspring, or Eastern Plaguelands. After that, you're headed to Outlands.|||I think you will need to level some. Azura <sp> north east Kalimdor <sp> has rich thorium veins. Blasted Lands in East kingdom has thorium veins. EPL also have rich thorium.

Mithril is probably gray at that level, but Hinterlands has that.|||Quote:

Higher end ore for people who have 275-300 mining is mainly silithus (tons of ore there) and ungoro....

Above 300 is in outlands.|||once you hit 300 go to honor hold and upgrade your skill. then go back to azeroth and do your leveling like always. you'll come across enough viens to level yourself up to about 350 before you actually hit outlands. by then, fel iron will be green to you.

i would stick with mithril until it grays, then move on to thorium. rich thorium wont turn green into way into your 300s.

mithril, go to searing gorge, hinterlands, tanaris, or feralas.

thorium, go to silithus, winterspring, epl, and wpl. wpl will have a mix where the southern and western half is mithril while the northern and eastern half is thorium.

other in-between zones are felwood and ungoro.

enjoy!|||Thanks folks - great advice!|||I pushed these out on my alt mining thorium in the cuts in epl and un'goro. I never went to silithus because I canNOT stand that zone.|||Quote:

Thanks for that - I've heard about Honor Hold and getting the grand master training - somebody told me I have to get transported there by a mage, I just don't have a clue where to go or what to do to get there - any directions?|||Find a mage to port you to shatt. Then you will most likely need an escort to honor hold as you would not have the flight path. Be sure and pick up the flight path in Shatt so you can get back easier. You need to have the TBC expansion installed to get to the outland.

Once in honor hold the mining trainer is in the same building as the repair guy/blacksmith trainer. Your escort should know where or just turn on track repair.

The flight path is around the corner from the inn.

Speaking of flight paths, you pass one at the temple as you head into hellfire. I am sure your escorts would not mind pausing so you can go ahead and grab that one.

The main reason for the escort is the ravengers as you enter the zone. Just staying on the road is not safe. At level 50 you will have a large aggro range.

You did not say what server you are on, but I have an 80 mage <Zerlik> on Antonidas. I am on most weeknights after 6 pm central and as long as I am not in the middle of something I don't mind helping.

once you get portaled to shatt, the first thing you should do is to run to aldor tier and set your hearth there. you can be neutral with them it doesnt matter. just set your hearth there. then you have portals that will take you to any of the horde cities.

after you do that, talk to the flight master to get the flight point at shattrath. also, you have an automatic link to HH (at least thats what i had when i was playing alliance). you dont need silly escorts or stuffs like that. just unequip everything that has durability and run west out of the city. look at your map, it should give you a picture of where HH is when you do reach hellfire peninsula. but do double check with the flight master, im 99% sure you get HH automatically.
