Making Gold With Alchemy, Enchanting, and More!

[:1]Hello Everyone!

First off, I've been playing World of Warcraft for over 4 years. Over that time, I've amassed a good deal of knowledge about the game and have finally decided to share those ideas with those who can use them - gamers!

I've decided to share these in 2 forms - print and video. The videos are meant to be the focal point with the Blog Posts serving to give additional information on the subject, links to addons, macros, etc.

I hope you guys like them and look forward to new posts in the upcoming days / weeks!

For those wondering, the youtube vids are nicely done - clearly spoken and easy to understand. Didn't check the blogs though (sorry).

There is just one small thing that I would like to ask, concerning the way in whioch you determine profit. As I understand it, you check the lowest price on the AH for your mats and then the finished item price. One minus the other is profit (minus AH cut).

Here's where I think you could trip up. The lowest AH price isn't necessarily what you will buy ALL your mats for. To give an exaggerated example, the lowest price for item X is 1g, and you need 5. However, the remaining 4 are all 100g each. This will skew your calcluation and screw your profit.

I'm sure you could check further, and that the time required probably isn't worth it, as this scenario is unlikely. I suspect that the answer is this pragmatic approach, but would be interested to see your thoughts on this.

Thanks for making these vids.|||Quote:

That's generally how I look at it. I may end up making a bit less profit than I was intending, but I generally don't chase Gold opportunities unless I can see significant results from them. That being said, if I make a few less Gold than I was planning, I should still come out with a respectable amount of Gold when I finish.

Oh, and we've got one more video! The blog post is very helpful, too :)

Enjoy :D|||I also would like to verify the validity of these links and videos.

I have looked at most of the videos and blogs, and as previously stated they are all well done, and very clear in the information they present. I liked them so much i subscribed to his youtube channel ;)

I have been looking to get 'into' the Auction House properly for a long time.. and this is a really good way of doing so.

I love the spreadsheets you have made, this makes everything so much easier!!

In short.. worth checking these videos/blogs out if u want to use your professions to make some money and play the AH.

Well done, and keep up the good work :D|||I was surprised to see that you used the uncommon gems to make rare gems - on my server, shadowspirits are much more valuable and flexible (and cheaper to make).

Also, for enchanting mats, 48 hours usually costs the same as 12 ;-)

ps: would also like to recommend the addon skillet

pps: was 'amused' to watch the trade chat on your server - Alliance side seems to be full of childish idiots ...

ppps: the rings and amulets that JC can make should be put on the AH first. Especially the sub lvl 80 ones - lvl 79 twinks are prepared to pay well over 100g for decent bling.|||Normally I'm a bit apprehensive of new users posting youtube video's, but indeed, these are very informational and well done... Might make it a sticky if it gets pushed down too much.|||Quote:

If you did that, I'd really appreciate it!
