Which class will have most use of the engineering profession?

[:1]I know that normally you choose class before profession, but hypothetically:

Which class will have most use of the engineering profession?

In other words, assume you've maxed the Engineering Profession. You'll be able to make all kinds of nice stuff - which items will be most useful and to which class?

If there's a distinction Goblin and Gnome engineering - please suggest class for both.|||While blacksmithing is not exactly a good choice for a caster class and tailoring not the best choice for plate-wearing classes, engineering is quite beneficial to everyone. Goblin engineering is mostly focused on blowing stuff up, good for PvP, while gnome engineering makes fun gadgets.

Hunters can make their own guns and bullets, and on higher skill levels you can make trinkets with awesome stamina bonuses which are good for tanking classes. But apart from that, I don't really believe in choosing a class for the sake of doing a profession, certainly not in the case of engineering. The goggles you can make are cloth in the beginning, but in the end levels you can make goggles of every armour type and for every class. That basically proves that engineering doesn't pick a specific class to benefit.|||And what class dosnt want the mounts that Engineers get to make.|||The goggles are great headgear for entry level raiding and my DK alt still hasn't replaced them.|||Quote:

Engineering is probably the 'fun-est' profession. As a Goblin Engineer you get to make splenddid explosive things that may or may not work reliably. As a Gnomish Engineer you get to make all sorts of gadgets and gizmos which again work rather unpredictably. But that level of failure makes it somehow more fun. Gnomes come with a 15 racial point start on Engineering.

The downsides are that many of the most remarkable things are restricted to use only by Engineers of a certain level (I still don't understand this - real life Engineers don't design and make things just for others in the profession). It's expensive to level up, requiring things from Alchemists, Skinners, Miners, and Herbalists. You'll find yourself in the AH a lot, looking for fairly expensive materials. Some people therefore level up other alts in those professions to keep the Engineer supplied.

I like it, though, and have one of each, Goblin and Gnomish.|||Engineering is pretty well balanced to all classes. The mote extractor tool is one of the coolest items in the game as well finding gas clouds on the mini map. Then theirs the whole swiss army knife that does everything even bringing people back from death.

I love my engineering and is currently on my mage. I'm about to give my tankadin Engineering too.
