Hi all,
my warlock has just gotten 350 tailoring (second profession, enchanting) and has the choice of specialising.
Before patch 3, it seemed fairly clear to me that shadow was the way to go. However, now that it's all just spellpower, is this still the case? I've looked at it again and shadow still seems to be the best one, but would welcome an argument for or against from those more in the know, before committing to it.
Thanks in advance
DelBoy
ps: slightly unrelated, but Aldor or Scryer as well?|||Well, they nerfed pretty much all the specialised items, so I've no idea if it makes any difference.. my FSW shoulders, the last piece that I have left of the set, now no longer has +shadow damage but pure spellpower instead - which means that a fire mage would benefit just as much from it.
I suggest you compare the basic stats on both the FSW and Spellfire sets, and see what gives the most sta/int/spellpower. But I fear that they've turned out to be exactly the same, as happened with so many other things (the spellthreads and the gems, for instance).|||thanks for the info. My previous research had given me the impression that spellcloth was more crit orientated, mooncloth more healing and shadowcloth more frost/shadow damage.
My impression now is that fire mages still benefit from the crits on spellcloth. It seems that the only real difference between mooncloth and shadowcloth is that MC has spirit and SC stamina.
This might be totally wrong, hence the post.
DelBoy|||Look at the set bonus. The Shadow set has a healing bonus when you do shadow damage. (that's how I remember it)
I'm at 374 tailoring and I plan on getting 375 by making those epic shadow boots. I have to say that farming primals sucks! At least I'm still level 68 on that toon so I'm getting some exp while doing it.
What are your favorite primal farming spots?
I've been running around nagrand killing those shadow guys. The drop rate sucks but I get more exp there than I would in Hellfire. Tomorrow I plan on going to SMV to farm the fires and waters.|||Quote:

looks as though motes drop rate around oshugun have dropped. after killing 20 voidspawns i got 3 motes. whackness man. but maybe its just the luck of the draw that day. who knows. anyway... i usually get my motes through two places, bashir landing and the area where kazaak is. the first for mana, the second for fire. fire is cheap, and i get it also mining fel iron ores. but sell it and use that cash to buy the primals you want. i find bashir landing empty most of the time now, but there are people phaseshifted there farming. other good thing about that spot is that there's nothing but mana wyrms there. no other random adds to bug you. you'll see people collecting mana cells every now and then. the fire elementals by kazaak are surrounded by other mobs, but i find they drop motes of fire most often. underwater fighting is just annoying so i wouldnt farm motes of water. another thing to do is take up engineering for the mote extractor.|||As a lock you want shadowweaving for the shard bag. I believe the primal moon cloth specialty has the best Lich King stats though. More spell power and it has spirit IIRC|||Thanks for all the helpful responses. Looking at it all, I'm tempted to go for the shadow set.
