so I think I'm going to finally level fishing on one of my toons
just wondering which to do it on
what class skills benefit it? I'm guessing the ability to walk on water is a plus so probably my priest
this is kind of a silly question, but it makes some sense, somebodys gotta fish, who should it be?|||To level fishing from 1-375 is a long path but imo very rewarding. There are buffs for all classes so its hardly relevant to ask "which character" really. Although I would suggest the least likely of your classes that can be distracted by raid/group/pvp invs for maximum time-per-fishing skill up :)
Shaman/Priest good due to the walk on water, but if you are a high level that shouldn't bother you anyways. Level it with cooking if you haven't already is good practice too ;)|||Quote:

yea its going to be done on an existing 70, so its sort of, what is beneficial to fishing?|||I really don't think there is any trait that is specific to any class that would help level fishing. The only trait that helps is on the user's side. Patience.
It's usually best done with Wow in window mode, and every extant episode of the simpsons in your VLC playlist.|||Quote:

Water walking potions are actually one of the daily fishing quest rewards, so don't worry about that. You can always mail your catch to your cooking alt, so that's not a big issue. But...if you ever plan to try the Sunday fishing tourney, pick a class that has a quick travel form. You need to move from school to school quickly to stay ahead of the crowd, and mounting up takes too much time. AotC on hunter works well, but other travel forms should work well also.|||Quote:

Golden fishsticks for healers +44 healing iirc, grilled mudfish for rogues +20 agi, another one gives +spell damage, etc etc. Every server I have ever played on they are almost, if not over, 20g a stack.
Plus some of the fish sell for equal silly amounts.
Edit: yes a long dvd is a good idea but don't forget to click that bobber ;)|||Well, other than walking on water, there's not much difference. Druids tend to do well with mobility (getting from one school of fish to the next), priests and shaman can stand on the water to get to hard to reach schools. Neither is a really big difference, to be honest, though.
And there are fish that can benefit every class/spec in the game once cooked, and the food isn't BoP anyway, so it's not like fishing is going to be more beneficial to anyone either. In the next patch, the gathering professions are going to have bonuses, but I don't think the secondary skills will.|||whichever char that has a epic flying mount. getting from fish school to fish school is just so much faster then.
You dont need waterwalking because there are no fish schools in the middle of the lakes. they are always at the shore.|||Quote:

I chose a hunter for fishing for a couple of reasons. First is that he has a cat pet (which has an enormous appetite) so he can always provide food for the pet. Not so useful for some other sorts of pets as not all will eat fish (wolves, for instance). Secondly, while he fishes, the pet neatly takes care of any mobs that sneak up on him when he is armed only with a fishing pole. And thirdly, as his levels go up in fishing, he can catch fish that, when cooked (he cooks too) provides food for the alts of different levels. I hear it sells well on the AH but don't know for sure as I always use the fished food for toons and pet. An d don't forget Deviate Fish from the oases in the Barrens. Uncooked, they're worth about 50 silver each on the AH; cooked (if you're lucky enough to find the recipe as a drop there) they're worth about double that.
And finally, make sure you take your character to one of the areas to fish for a battered trunk that contains a Journal which, when right-clicked, gives you the Find Fish skill. The area I chose was Windshear Crag in the Stonetalon Mountains. Fishing the oily pools there or the floating wreckage gets you the trunk and skill quickly. You must be lvl 100 in Fishing first, though, to do it.|||Quote:
Fishing, who does it best?
Pflt. Nat Pagle, of course.
